We are often asked, “What can I do to lower my car insurance rate?”
First we must understand that the premium charged by the insurance companies is determined by factors such as driving history, the type of vehicles driven, residence address, and years of experience. These and other rating factors are reviewed for all drivers in the household, not just the primary driver or the named insured. So a ticket by a spouse or the addition of an inexperienced driver may result in a premium increase to the policy.
The Insurance Calendar has the following tips on how to reduce your Automobile Insurance Premium: “Driving safely and maintaining a good driving record will save you money. In addition to preserving your health and your vehicle’s condition, a good driving record will translate into preferred auto insurance rates. DUI’s, accidents, speeding tickets, and failure to obey traffic signals all cause insurance premiums to increase. Avoid these issues and you will pay less.”
In addition, Insurance Companies offer discounts that may be applied to your particular situation. Our agency offers a “no obligation” Care Review to determine coverage needs and pricing. If you live in NC or SC give us a call and one of our experienced agents will be happy to review your coverages.
