Hurricane Bill, the 2009 season's first hurricane is moving westward. For now the National Hurricane Center predicts that Bill will not strike land along the southeast coast, but hurricane's have a mind of their own. Anyone who experienced Hurricane Hugo knows that major damage can be brought to areas that were not in the forecasted track of the storm. Knowing also that the fury of a hurricane is not necessarily confined to the coastal areas, a good disaster plan should be established by every household.
The National Hurricane Center recommends that you prepare by:
* Developing a Family Plan.
* Creating a Disaster Supply Kit.
* Securing your home.
* Having a Pet Plan.
To learn more about how to prepare for a hurricane or other natural disasters, please take a few moments and go to the National Hurricane Center’s website.
